Hi! Welcome!

I am very new at this, so be kind!

Actually, this is for a class, so I would appreciate as many responses as possible. You have the power to give me a better grade. WOW!

On this website we shall talk about a variety of topics, but I will base the beginnings in a verse of Scripture or song. Christian or not, please join in and let me know what you think!

PLEASE!!!!!

Thanks, JMB.

What do you think about 'he leads me beside the still waters; he restores my soul' (Psalm 23:2) I think too many people never get past 23:1.

Good question
1) I love the word leads. I have learned from personal experience that I do well when I follow the Lord's leading.
2) When He leads He does so in a manner that brings me to good places like still waters. Reminds me of Jesus being in the boat with the disciples and calming the stormy waters and making them still.
3) He restores my soul speaks volumes
a) The fact that my soul needs to be restored is a truth that Christians often overlook. The question that immediately comes to mind is why does my soul need to be restored? Is it because I have been pouring myself into the work and ministry of Christ, or because I have allowed myself to slip?
What are your thoughts on some of this?

Wow! Thanks. That´s real good. I was focusing on the resting part - we all need some quiet time to drink in God's provision. To be beside 'still waters' is in itself, quite refreshing. Sort of like when I get to go to the shore in Maine and just watch the water. Restful. Refreshing. Peaceful.

So, is your Blog title:
logos expo, or
logo sexpo?
Thanks for putting it on a site where I can put the RSS feed in my Google Reader.

I like this topic. Often as Christian workers we are not living lives that are characterized by shalom and so are missing out on God's blessings as well as turning off non Christians.

Good thoughts.
1) It isn't often enough that we "Be Still and know that He is God"
2) It has been my experience though that the problem begins with "He leads me". If we let Him lead us would find ourselves besides the still waters, being replenished and restored.
3) Maybe we need to say like David did in the beginning of the passage "The Lord is my Shepherd"
The Great Shepherd said: My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27

When I think about the still waters, I think of the phrase "still waters run deep." I find that it is only when I am quiet before the Lord that I learn the Deep things of God. When I am just rushing through my life I miss out on so many of the lessons that He has for me. I need him to lead me by still waters so that I can learn more about Him and me.

Howard - you forgot to be kind! Actually, I'm glad you showed me how misunderstood my posting could be - I would never have thought of that! So . . . should I change my name? What do all of you think?
FYI - logos is Greek for 'word' and generally is a reference to Jesus as the Word of God - Incarnate (see the Gospel of John, chapter 1). I do admit it is kind of hard to understand. Maybe it is too presumptuous of me to use such a term, anyway. The 'expo' refers to exposition, as in searching Scripture for what it means to us and how it can change our lives - bring us to peace - true rest.

Yes, JMB - 'be still' was one of the verses I was going to use. In the Hebrew it actually translates as 'stop' or 'cease' - giving us the idea of true focus - forgetting everything buzzing about us - leaving the chaos and confusion behind. I'm not sure I know how to be quiet - I like to talk too much.
